COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — Walla Walla University took on Evergreen State College Thursday night to open up their conference play. This game gained the Walla Walla Wolves their first conference win of the season.
The Facts:
The Wolves' strong defense and quick offense were the keys that helped lead them to victory over the Evergreen Geoducks. In the first half they were able to keep an 11-point difference between them and the Geoducks, which stayed consistent throughout the game. The Wolves defense not only helped in stopping Evergreen from getting close to tying the game, but Walla Walla's quick ball movement on the offense helped as well.
The quick pace of Walla Walla can be seen as they were able to score eight points off of fast breaks compared to the Geoducks six. Another aspect that helped the Wolves was utilizing the paint where they scored 40 of their points compared to Evergreen's 20. The Wolves also out-rebounded the Geoducks 43 to 36 and had a field goal percentage of 57.8%.

Elijah McLaughlin led with 18 points
Tyler Williford had a double-double for the night with 15 rebounds and 12 points
Jayden Upshaw had 14 points, four assists, and two steals
Wolves Game Leaders:
Caleb Golden led the team with 18 points and eight rebounds
Sore Dalan followed with 17 points, eight rebounds, as well as one block, and one steal
Almonds Sebirokwa had 14 points and three steals
Ethan Ford led with six assists and had 10 points and two steals
The Wolves are back on home court where they will take on the Northwest Eagles at 2 pm.
