COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — Walla Walla University Men's Basketball lost to the Bushnell Beacons in a hard-fought matchup Friday afternoon. The Beacons won 112 to the Wolves 94 points.
This was a great offensive game for the Wolves with four athletes scoring double-digits. However, on the defensive end, the Wolves struggled with fouls, which played a part in the Beacons win, as they were 23-26 from the line. Junior Almonds Sebirokwa had a career high game with 26 points. Transfer Dillon Wasser followed with 20 points and seven assists. Andrew Vaughan scored 13 points and had one steal for the evening, and Soren Dalan followed with 11 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks. Ethan Ford had an impressive game as well with 10 assists, five rebounds, and two steals.
The Bushnell Beacons on-point shooting helped them keep the lead on the Wolves for the whole game. Going 57.85 for field goals, 62.5% from the 3-point, and 88.5% from the free throw, it was hard for anyone on the team to miss. Six players scored in the double-digits with Stevie Schlabach leading the team with 23 points, followed by Kaden Sand who had 19 points, as well as two steals, and four assists. Cory Johnson had 18 points, Luke Smith had 13, Tony Frohlich-Fair had 12, and Trevon Richnmond had 10. Spencer Hoffman dominated with 11 rebounds.
The Wolves next matchup is against the Corban Warriors on home court at 9 pm, Saturday evening.
