COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — The first conference game of the 2023 season kicked off with the Walla Walla Wolves going up against the Fighting Saints of Carroll College Friday afternoon. The Wolves fell to the Saints, 0-3, giving them their first conference loss of the season.
Walla Walla fought hard defensively, as Carroll's offense attacked the Wolves with 32 shots in the match. Senior goalie, Diego Molina, was all over the goal, making sure none of the Saints goals got past him. Yet despite his and the Wolves' efforts, they were unsuccessful in fully stopping their offense letting three goals get by.
On the other end of the field, Lautaro Brehm attempted to get the Wolves on the scoreboard with two shots, but Carroll's goalie, Juan Muniz Navarrett, did not let that happen. Vinicius Silva also attempted to get Walla Walla a point, but was denied that chance as well.
For the Fighting Saints, Ismael Navarro, Enrico Paparelli, and Michael Mojzis, all contributed to Carroll's win by scoring one goal each.
Walla Walla will be back on their home field, Sunday afternoon, for an early match against University of Providence. First kick is at 1 pm.
