COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — Walla Walla University has officially announced the addition of Women's Soccer and Men's Volleyball to the Athletics program.
While still in the early stages, Athletic Director Nestor Osorio is excited for these new additions. "Adding Women's Soccer and Men's Volleyball to our Athletics Program will help to grow our Wolves family, recruiting student-athletes from all over the world who are choosing where to continue their Academic and Athletic journey next school year."
Osorio goes on to say, "In times of real struggles with enrollment growth for many faith-based Higher Education institutions, these Athletics initiatives will contribute to the efforts of the Walla Walla University staff and faculty members to bring more students to our prestigious organization. God has blessed our program with amazing coaches, students, sponsors, and supporters and we are grateful to do our part to bring student-athletes who are aware and committed to WWU values, mission, and vision. Let's go Wolves! Victory is in Christ"
Men's Volleyball will operate within Athletics but will travel to other schools such as University of Washington, Eastern Washington University, and Washington State University, to play against their men's volleyball teams in tournament play. Athletics also hopes to host their own tournaments so that these teams can experience Walla Walla University.
Women's Soccer will play in scrimmages and other non-conference matchups, as they use this year to build a strong program. While the team may not be able to play in Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) matches just yet, Osorio hopes that by 2025, Women's Soccer will make their appearance in the CCC.
