COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — Walla Walla Women's Volleyball (9-13, 8-12 CCC) faced off against No. 8 Corban University Warriors (22-4,18-3 CCC) on home court in their second to last game of the regular season. The Warriors took the win in three over the Wolves (25-23, 25-22, 25-17).
Walla Walla was able to hang with the nationally ranked team in sets one and two, even taking a couple-point lead over Corban. Yet despite keeping a really close game, the Warriors pulled it out in the end, taking a three-set sweep over the Wolves.
Emma Bischoff led the Warriors Attack with nine kills, followed by Kendra Bittle and Makayla Roginski who both had eight kills for the afternoon. Abby Guindy led in assists with 19 and Marissa Uehara led with 11.
For the Wolves side,
Sahara Browning led the attack with nine kills, followed by
Natalia Jimenez who had eight, and
Femke Eising trailing behind with five.
Danielle Faamausili had 14 assists for the afternoon and
Melissa Monterroza had 14. Libero
Idalis Bedore led the defense with 12 digs followed by Browning with 11.
The Wolves will be back tomorrow evening for their final regular season match against Bushnell University, where there will be a Senior Night celebration for seniors Danielle and
Gabrielle Faamausili. First serve is at 8 pm on Windemuth Court.
