COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — Walla Walla University Men's Soccer (0-4, 0-4 CCC) scored their first goal of the 2024 season against their opponent, the Yotes of The College of Idaho (5-1-1, 3-1 CCC) in Sunday's match. However, College of Idaho took the win, scoring five goals to Walla Walla's one.
The Wolves fought hard, making sure that this was not going to be an easy win for the Yotes. In that fight, the Wolves were able to score their first goal of the season from Jonathon Rogne at the 63rd minute of the match. While the Wolves did what they could, the Yotes were still able to pick apart Walla Walla's defense, resulting in five goals to take the Sunday afternoon win.
For The College of Idaho, Keidin Green had a hat trick for the match, scoring the first and last goals of the game, with his second goal coming in a minute before Walla Walla's goal. Green's first goal was at 37:47 and was assisted by Pierre Fabre. Hugo Gutierrez scored the Yotes second goal at 55:21 and was assisted by J.J. Osuna. At 62:59, Keidin Green scored the third goal of the match and was assisted by Hugo Gutierrez. Eric Hornung then scored College of Idaho's fourth goal for the afternoon at 81:07, followed by Keidin Green at 86:43.
For goalies, College of Idaho's Ben Anderson had two saves, and Matej Hron had one. Walla Walla's Sebastian Vargas had six saves for the afternoon.
Walla Walla will be back on home field for their match-up against travel partner Rocky Mountain College on Sunday, October 6th with kick-off at 1 pm.
