EUGENE, Ore. — In a battle of two teams who received votes in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll, it was Bushnell that came out on top over Walla Walla in a Cascade Conference volleyball game on Saturday night.
The Beacons (12-8, 6-4) won by set scores of 25-16, 25-21 and 25-22.
Walla Walla wrapped up the first half of the CCC regular season schedule on a three-game losing streak, but holds a 7-6 overall record and is 5-5 in conference play.
Yaimaris Garcia added to her amazing serving ace total with six more on the night. The freshman extended her single season program record to 43 with 10 games left to go. Garcia added 27 assists, eight digs and three kills.
Natalia Jimenez led the Wolves with eight kills.
Sahara Browning had seven and
Myckayla Shaver added six kills. Walla Walla was held to a hitting percentage of .099 with 22 errors.
Amyah Semau had 10 kills for Bushnell. Katie Belitz led the Beacons with 19 assists while Hailey Heider and Semau had 11 digs each.
