CALDWELL, Idaho — The Walla Walla Women's Basketball team opened Cascade Conference play with a 95-34 loss to (RV) The College of Idaho on the road on Friday afternoon.
Brooklyn Coe led the Wolves (2-3, 0-1) with 14 points and two steals.
Sidney Folkenberg had six rebounds while Folkenberg and Ally Haslam had two assists each.
Walla Walla was able to get on the board first with a layup by Coe after a steal by
Jaylo Bello, but the Wolves were held scoreless in the final seven minutes of the quarter and trailed 26-4 after the first 10 minutes.
Mia Austin led College of Idaho (7-2, 1-0) with 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting with five 3s. Brooke Beresford had 15 points, Keylie Waltermeyer added 12 points and Taryn Riley finished with 10 points. Maiya Hardy had nine rebounds and the Yotes combined for 26 assists on 38 made field goals.
College of Idaho shot 78.6% from the field in the strong first quarter and 58.5% for the game. The Wolves struggled from the field making just 20.8% of their attempts and turned the ball over 17 times.
