WALLA WALLA, Wash. — The Walla Walla Men's Basketball team celebrated senior night, but it was No. 24 Oregon Tech that celebrated in the end with a 109-97 Cascade Conference victory at Windemuth Court on Saturday.
Before the game, the Wolves honored their five seniors;
Almonds Sebirokwa,
Andrew Vaughan,
Steele Twiford,
Dillon Wasser and
Josue Mireles.
Sebirokwa led the Wolves with 27 points on 9-of-14 shooting. Vaughan had 24 points and four 3s with a team-high eight rebounds. Twiford had 18 points on a perfect 7-for-7 shooting night.
Dillon Wasser added six points, four assists and two steals and Mireles returned from injury and hit a 3-pointer in his two minutes of action in the second half.
Sophomore
Soren Dalan added 10 points and six rebounds. The Wolves shot well in the second half with a 20-of-34 (58.8%) shooting performance. Walla Walla scored 50 points in the paint and had 13 points off turnovers.
The loss dropped the Wolves' record to 4-20 on the year and 3-17 in CCC play.
Seven players scored in double-figures for Oregon Tech, led by Kam Osborn who finished with 25 points with five 3s. Dakota Reber had 17 points, Erik Fraser and Keegan Shivers each had 14, Jackson Cooper and Jared Sucher both had 12 and Jamison Guerra contributed 11 points.
The Owls came out firing with 10 3-pointers in the first half and finished with 14 on the night. Oregon Tech outrebounded Walla Walla 45-31 and had 45 points off the bench. The Owls had 19 points off turnovers, 15 fast break points and 14 second chance points.
Oregon Tech improved to 19-6 overall and 14-15 in conference action.
Walla Walla led twice in the game, the last with 11:32 to go in the first half when the Wolves took a 20-19 lead off a Mestrov layup. OIT retook the lead 19 seconds later and never gave it back. The Owls led by as much as 25 in the second half. WWU never gave up and had the deficit as low as 10 before the end of the game.

The Wolves will conclude their season on the road with a pair of conference games. Walla Walla will travel to Eugene, Ore. to take on Bushnell at 2 p.m. on Friday and then travel to Salem, Ore. to face Corban at 9 p.m. on Saturday.
