LA GRANDE, Ore. — The Walla Walla Men's Basketball team dropped a Cascade Conference game to Eastern Oregon 110-72 at Quinn Coliseum on Friday.
The loss dropped the Wolves' record to 4-17 overall and 3-14 in conference play.
Senior
Andrew Vaughan led Walla Walla with 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Vaughan is now 20 points away from tying Tristan Greenidge for the men's basketball record for total points in a career since the Wolves joined the NAIA in 2009.
Thomas Mestrov added 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting and had a team-high six assists.
Soren Dalan had 15 points and five rebounds with a block. Eight different Walla Walla players scored in the game.
The Wolves recorded an assist on 19-of-30 made field goals and shot 45% (9-of-20) from the 3-point line. Walla Walla had a solid second half shooting performance and made 18-of-32 (56.3%) in the final 20 minutes.
Eastern Oregon scored the first four points and never relinquished the lead. Cascade Conference leading scorer Garrett Hawkes led the Mountaineers with 19 points in 18 minutes played. Trent Rogers added 17 points, Brennen Newsom had 14 points, Kamal Muhammad recorded 12 points and James Bodily finished with 11 points.
EOU shot 65.8% from the field and outrebounded the Wolves 40-23 to improve its record to 15-8 overall and 10-7 in CCC action.
