LA GRANDE, Ore. — The Walla Walla Women's Basketball team fell down early and were unable to mount a comeback in a 72-54 loss to Eastern Oregon in a Cascade Conference game at Quinn Coliseum on Friday.
The Wolves are now 7-16 overall after the snapping their three-game winning streak and 4-13 in CCC play.
The Mountaineers jumped out to a 16-6 advantage in the first quarter and never trailed in the game. Walla Walla started the second quarter red hot and used an 8-0 run to cut the lead to four, but it was as close as the team was able to get.
Mireyah Lopez led the Wolves with 13 points and had four rebounds.
Natalee Trevino added 12 points and
Jaylo Bello hit three 3s and finished with 10.
Kelsie Siegner had 13 points to lead 12 Eastern Oregon players who put up points in the game. Brie Holecek had 13 rebounds. The Mountaineers improved to 15-7 overall and 11-6 in conference play with the victory.
