Walla Walla begins play at final regular season CCC tournament

EAGLE POINT, Ore. — Eddie Tache recorded back-to-back rounds of 76 for the Walla Walla Men's Golf team, both men are in ninth place and women are in eighth after the first day at the SOU Spring Classic at the Stone Ridge Golf Club in Eagle Point, Ore. on Monday.

The final round will start with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Tuesday at the same course.

Tache bounced back after a double bogey on his opening hole on No. 13 and shot 15 pars in the first round. The junior recorded a birdie on No. 7 in his second round. 

Joshua Tan and Braiden Ermshar are tied for 44th place after the opening day. Tan shot back-to-back rounds of 80, Ermshar had a great 4-over 76 in his first round, but struggled in the second round to card an 84. Andrew Kuljis and Max Pena both improved from Round 1 to Round 2, Kuljis by five strokes and Pena by four.

Hailey Werner and Raegan Boyse paced the WWU women's team as both golfers carded a 19-over 91 in the first round. Werner had a strong stretch on the back nine where she recorded three pars in a five hole stretch. Boyse spread out five pars on the day. Emily Keel had three pars in a row on Nos. 10-12 and finished with a 93. Nell Dodds also finished her round with a 93.
