COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — Walla Walla Women's Basketball's
Jaylo Bello connected on eight 3-point attempts to set a new program record in a 64-52 loss to Northwest (Wash.) in a Cascade Conference game on Saturday night.
Bello hit a 3 at the buzzer and went 8-of-14 from beyond the arc to break the record that she previously held along with Johanna Uribe. The sophomore also tied her own single-game record with 34 points.
Walla Walla dropped to 3-13 on the season and 1-9 in conference play. Northwest improved to 6-12 overall and 2-8 in CCC action.
For the second straight game, the Wolves found their offense in the fourth quarter. Walla Walla went 8-of-11 from the field, including 5-of-6 from beyond the arc (all from Bello), over the final 10 minutes and outscored the Eagles 24-15.
Tessa Duncan led WWU with eight rebounds.
Allison Haslam had five points, seven boards, four assists and three steals.
Ellie Bost led Northwest with 13 points. Kaleah Medeiros added 11 points and Jersey McGehee finished with 10 points on the night. Ellie DeWaard had 10 points and eight rebounds with three assists.
The Eagles led by as much as 26 in the fourth quarter, but did not make a field goal over the final 6:15 of the game. NU made 11 shots from beyond the arc and outrebounded the Wolves 41-35. The Eagles forced 17 turnovers and scored 22 points in the paint.

Walla Walla will play a pair of home games against No. 17 Eastern Oregon and (RV) College of Idaho on Friday and Saturday respectively.
