ASHLAND, Ore. —
Soren Dalan recorded a career-high 18 rebounds in an 83-73 Cascade Conference loss to Southern Oregon on Friday.
Dalan had previously set a personal best mark of 17 on Jan. 17 against Northwest (Wash.), but was able to top that mark just four games later. The junior added 17 points and three blocks for the Wolves (0-19, 0-13).
Walla Walla led by as much as 16 in the first half and took a 10-point advantage into halftime, but Southern Oregon recovered and improved to 14-7 overall and 11-2 in CCC action and took sole possession of first place in the conference with the Oregon Tech overtime loss to Lewis-Clark State.
Jordan Jackson led Walla Walla with 22 points and had a pair of steals with eight rebounds.
Reese Snellman finished with 16 points and
JT Fenz contributed six assists.
The Wolves outrebounded the Raiders 44-41 and made 47.1% (8-of-17) from beyond the arc. WWU had 34 points in the paint, 19 second chance points off 14 offensive boards and 13 fast break points.
Southern Oregon was led by Bryce Dyer's 15 points. Dyer completed his double-double with 11 rebounds. Jack Chlumak added 13 points, Elijah Jackson had 11 points and Trey Neff finished with 10 points. Brady Rice led the SOU with 12 boards.
The Raiders saw all 10 players that saw the floor score and had 40 points off their bench. Southern Oregon scored 21 points off 13 turnovers and outscored the Wolves by 20 points in the second half.
