COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — It took a little over 10 minutes for
Soren Dalan to get his first bucket, but when the ball went through the hoop it pushed the junior to 1,000 career points. Dalan is the fifth member of the 1,000 point club in Walla Walla Men's Basketball's history since 2009.
The Wolves lost their penultimate game of the season, 97-82, against Bushnell in a Cascade Conference game on Friday afternoon at Windemuth Court.
Dalan finished with 14 points and pushed his career total to 1,012. The junior is now 59 points behind KiAndre Gaddy for fourth all-time and 380 points behind
Andrew Vaughan who set the mark when he concluded his WWU career last season. The Centralia, Wash., native added a team-high eight rebounds and tied the school record with six blocked shots. His teammate
Kieran Clasen set the record three months earlier against Whitman.
Jordan Jackson had 22 points for the Wolves and pushed his season total to 404, seventh most in a single season since 2009.
Reese Snellman had 16 points and six assists. The sophomore is two assists shy of 100 on the year and would be the third WWU Men's Basketball player to reach that mark since 2009.
JT Fenz added 11 points and
Chike Ezeonu had 10 points for the Wolves.
Walla Walla shot well from the field in the second half. The Wolves were 16-of-30 (53.3%) overall and 5-of-9 (55.6%) from beyond the 3-point line in the final 20 minutes and made 10-of-13 (76.9%) free throws.
Cory Johnson had a fantastic performance for Bushnell with 37 points and 14 boards. Squeeky Johnson added 20 points and Kaleb Burnett finished with 17 points.
