The Walla Walla University women's basketball team played Whitman College, Saturday evening on the Whitman Campus. This was the second time these teams have faced each other this season.

The Wolves lost 67-34, and struggled as they only had six active players suited up to play.

Whitman went on a 15-0 run to start the ballgame, but Walla Walla fought back and put up seven consecutive points of their own, led by a Lauren Pernu layup and free throw to complete a three point play.

The Wolves were only down by 12 going into the half (27-15), but fatigue eventually caught up with them. Whitman went on a big run – increasing their lead to 20 points, by getting the ball inside and scoring in the post.

Michaela Garcia played all 40 minutes for the Wolves, finishing with 15 points, and five rebounds. Lauren Pernu continued her strong rebounding streak, she totaled 13 rebounds, and added six points of her own.

The Wolves will return to Whitman College Sunday at noon, to face Whitworth College
