Whitman College Defeats Walla Walla in Four

WALLA WALLA, Wash.- The Wolves of Walla Walla University started slow, and never seemed to get into a rhythm in a four set loss to Whitman College (11-25, 25-18, 14-25, 24-26) in the Missionaries home opener.

Lexi Shanko led the Wolves offense with 8 kills followed by 7 from Maria Darling. Freshman middle hitters Morgan Doyle and Margo Moore chipped in 4 and 3 respectively. Natalie Skeoch had 4 kills and 4 blocks while Alissa Casey led the team with 17 assists. Rylee Sutton led both teams with a match high 22 digs and added 3 aces to her performance.

The Missionaries were led by Shae Kanokaole with a match high 15 kills and Abby Sethoff with 11 while Anna Dawson pitched in a match high 37 assists.

Walla Walla University opens Cascade Conference play this weekend as they travel to Caldwell, ID to face The College of Idaho.
