Eagles Too Much for Wolves

KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University won their third straight game in defeating Walla Walla University, 96-33, in Cascade Conference play tonight. The Eagles had four players score in double figures led by Hannah Carlson's 17 points and 7 rebounds.
 
It would be Northwest U leading the entire way tonight as they ended the first quarter with a 23-4 margin which ended with Carlson's three point play with 33 seconds left on the clock.
 
A Miranda Langenhorst block at one end of the court would lead to her scoring four straight points in the paint to increase the Eagle lead to 37-6 at 4:48 in the second quarter. A steal and lay-in by Kalee Fowler with 8 seconds left on the clock would make it 53-10 at halftime.
 
Walla Walla's shooting would improve in the second half, but the deficit would be too much to overcome as Northwest U would post their 10th victory of the season. Christina Thermidor helped the Wolves scoring with 10 of her 12 points coming in the second half.
 
Northwest U (10-11, 5-6 CCC) got 16 points from freshman Miranda Langenhorst, 13 from Kalee Fowler, and 11 points and 8 assists from Jordan Asher. Brianna Fiso led the Eagles in rebounding with 11.
 
Christina Thermidor led Walla Walla (0-15, 0-8 CCC) with 16 points and 6 rebounds with Kassidy Kuykendall scoring 8 points. Lauren Pernu led the Wolves in assists with 4 for the night.
