Grace Wallace Shines in Loss to Lions

459PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University women's basketball team completing the sweep of Walla Walla with a 71-41 victory on Saturday night on Jim Skagen Court.
 
The win, the Lions improve to 4-15 and 2-9 in conference. Also competing in the first season in the Cascade Conference, Walla Walla is still searching for their first win as the move to 0-19, 0-11 CCC.
 
How it Happened: Walla Walla came out shooting in the first quarter, dropping back to back threes to take the early lead. Bethany George entered the game early, hitting a three pointer and following that up with another bucket to cut the lead to one point.
 
The Lions begun to take control in the second going of play, using a 12-3 run to take a 32-23 advantage into the break.
 
MU took their largest lead of the night with just moments left in the game after a three pointer by Ana Wakefield made it 71-38. The Lions closed out the game scoring 19 points in the fourth quarter compared to Walla Walla's six points.
 
By the Numbers: The Lion had four different players finished with double figures in points with Karissa Cox and Sadie Jenks each finished with 11 points while Miranda Schmillen and George both totaled 10 points.
The Lions nailed nine three-pointers in the game, shooting 36 percent from behind the arc while totaling a shooting percentage of 40 percent on the night.
 
Grace Wallace led the way for the Wolves totaling 15 points and 10 rebounds while Charity Underwood had nine points and Lauren Pernu tallied a game high 12 rebound.
