How It Happened
Right from the start, it looked like it would be a big night for the Beacons. Jeni Hoffert hit a three just :15 seconds into the game to break the ice. That was thee first of 19 three's pointers that the Beacons would connect on for the night. They have six in the first quarter and after 10 minutes, they had a 28-15 lead over Walla Walla. The Wolves shot well in the first also (45% for the quarter), but gave up too many turnovers and a couple of offensive rebounds that made a big difference. From there, the Beacons consistently hit shots and the Wolves could not keep pace. Despite the consistent scoring from
Emily Downs and
Lexi Ehlers, Walla Walla lost 51 to 97.
