Caldwell, Idaho – The Wolves were in Caldwell, Idaho today to face the Coyotes of the College of Idaho (6-3, 3-2).  Walla Walla (0-8, 0-7) lost today's match but Zac Christensen scored the Wolves first goal of the season in Cascade Conference play.

In the second minute of the match, College of Idaho's Ben Bechor, took a cross to the middle and punched in a goal from six yards out to put the Yotes up 1-0 over Walla Walla.  After that goal, both teams did a great job of defender their goal.  The Wolves did a good job of holding the ball today and setting up scoring opportunities, even though they only put 5 shots on goal, they were consistently in possession of the ball and looking for an opportunity to strike.  Both teams remained scoreless for the remainder of the first half.

In the second half, the Yotes came out on a mission and it didn't take long for them to get back on the scoreboard.  In the 50th minute, Brenden Kenly took a cross from Cole Fuller and score the Yotes second goal of the match.  Walla Walla put up several shots on goal over the next stretch but they were not able to convert them into points.  Idaho settled back down and in the 74th minute, Jacob Hunter gathered a pass from Cole Fuller and chipped in the ball from 6 yards out to put Idaho up 3-0.

Up to this point, even though held scoreless, Walla Walla had played excellent defense and remained patient with the ball on offense, taking their time to make runs at the goal.  In the 88th minute, Walla Walla stopped an Idaho attack and the ball came out of the fray with Damien Dennis in control.  He moved it quickly up the right side and found Zac Christensen in the middle of the field by himself.  Zac took the pass, dribble his way to 30 yards and put a shot on goal to the top left corner, just out of the keeper's hands and into the net.  Walla Walla lost the match 3-1, but today was a positive step forward for the Wolves.

Coach Burns believes that today was a sign of the progress that his team has been making this season.  "Being on the road has been a great learning experience for the team."  Commented Coach Burns.  "I expect our play to continue to improve now that we will be at home for a few games and the chemistry continues to grow."
