Walla Walla faced Oregon Tech this afternoon at 4pm, after a tough loss last night. The Wolves fought hard throughout the game but could not keep the lead against the Owls.
The Wolves were out for revenge against the Owls this afternoon, playing tough from the get go. Walla Walla kept Oregon Tech on their toes throughout the first half by remaining within 5 points of the Owls and taking the lead briefly in the 2
nd quarter.
The Owls came out of the locker room in the third quarter strong creating a 15 point gap the Wolves could not break. With 5 seconds left in the third quarter,
Carolina Montes drove to the hoop for a layup bringing the score to 60-43 Owls going into the fourth.
Alyssa Blankenship started the fourth quarter off strong for the Wolves with a foul line jumper with 9 minutes left, but Oregon Tech began raining 3's and continued to keep the lead. With 3 minutes left in the game
Michaela Garcia sparked a fire on the court with a 3, finishing with 13 points for the game. The Wolves persisted throughout all of the fourth quarter with a 3 from
Ka'iulani Chamberlain with 30 seconds left in the game.
The final score was 84-69 and the Wolves were led by
Sarah Halversen with 20 points and followed by
Alyssa Blankenship with 18 points.
