Women’s Basketball: Tight Game for the Wolves

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – The crowd went wild in this game between Walla Walla and Bushnell with a close fourth quarter. With the Wolves only down by six at the half time, they kept up well with the Beacons until the end. Bushnell pulled away in the last couple minutes by making their free throws. WWU made them earn the win being only 4 points behind with a final score of 64-68.  

Each player hustled hard and gave 100% on the court tonight. Here are some of the player highlights: 

Gwen Fayard helped score for the Wolves with a 3-pointer and Annika Geschke had 6 rebounds as well as a couple points. The team was well-rounded tonight on offense and played a tight defense.  

On the Beacons end, Kaylen Kamelamela led with 18 points, followed by Aspen Slifka and Libby Mathis who both had 12 points for the evening. Aspen Slifka also dominated on the defensive end with 10 rebounds for the night. 

While keeping fans on the edge of their seats, Clara Campos scored a 3 in the fourth quarter to help tighten the score. As time ran out, the Beacons kept the lead and the Wolves were unable to catch up. The Wolves next match is against Oregon Tech on February 10 at 12 pm.
