LEWISTON, Idaho — The Walla Walla Golf team opened the spring season with day one action at the Warrior Spring Classic at the Lewiston Golf and Country Club in Lewiston, Idaho.

Mariana Posada recorded nine pars, including four out of five late in her round, to finish the opening round with an 11-over 83 and finished the day in a tie for fifteenth place. Raegan Boyse knocked in the lone birdie on the day for the women with a birdie on No. 17.

Andrew Kuljis got out of the blocks quickly with five birdies in the opening round. Kuljis shot 3-under in an eight hole stretch late in his round to finish 1-over 73. The second round got to the senior who shot a 79 with two double-bogies, but Kuljis is in a tie for 22nd place with one round to play.

Eddie Tache had six birdies over two rounds and stayed consistent with a 6-over 78 in the opening round and improved by a stroke with a 77 in the second round. Freshman Nua Devaphalin recorded back-to-back birdies on Nos. 13 and 14 in his second round.

The final round for both the men and the women will be played with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
