Wolves Stumble Against New Hope

Box Score COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Josh Hough earned a double-double tonight against the visiting Deacons of New Hope but it wasn't enough to overcome a 17% shooting from behind the arc as the Wolves received their first loss of the season, 50-60.

The Wolves (2-1, 0-0) out rebounded the Deacons (2-3) 52-36 but also had twice the turnovers. Going into the half, Walla Walla University only trailed by 5 points, 25-30.

Rebounding continued to be in favor of the Wolves but the shoots just wouldn't fall. The team went from a 35% shooting in the first half to 29% in the second. The biggest decline was in the teams three point shooting which went from 30% down to 10% in the second half.

The teams going to try and find a way to get the ball in the hands of Josh Hough tomorrow who had 16 points and 16 rebounds. Helping Josh out was Chad Torkelsen who scored 14 points and Michael Isotalo with 9.

New Hope was led by Isiah Large with a game high 30 points and 5 steals. Carlos McLeod added 10 rebounds and 17 points.

Both teams face off again tomorrow at 2:00pm.
