Men's Basketball Outcome Decided in Final Seconds in Loss to Multnomah

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Ethan Osias had a game high 23 points in a loss to visiting Multnomah University, 77-82.

 

Ethan scored the first 12 points of the game by going four for four from behind the arc tonight. Offensive rebounding would keep Multnomah University (4-7, 1-3) in the game tonight. By the end of the game, they would score 16 of their points due to second chances while Walla Walla University (2-9, 0-3) would only score 4 of their points the same way.

 

At the end of the first half, WWU was up 41-39. Field goal percentage was almost exactly the same for both teams but the Wolves saw a 50% three point shooting advantage over the 35% from the Lions.

 

With 3:15 left to play in the half, the Lions saw their biggest lead of the night at 10 points, 74-64. Clutch shooting by Ethan Osias, Chad Torkelsen and Michael Isotalo would bring the score to 77-80 but that was as close as they'd get losing 77-82.

 

Key performances by MU were Ben Grandle and Thomas Simien each with 16 points. Blake Updike and Jason Wyncoop would add 15 points of their own.

 

Ethan Osias continues to lead the Wolves scoring a game high 23 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Michael Isotalo also had 2 steals to go with his 8 rebounds and a career high 17 points. Chad Torkelsen scored 19 points on the night.

 

The Wolves play next this Saturday night at 7:30pm vs Warner Pacific College.
