Ellensburg, Wash. – With 17:24 remaining in the second half, Walla Walla was down just 12 points to Central Washington University after a layup from Jacob Vargas cut the score to 50-38.  From there the Wildcats managed to widen the gap, defeating the Wolves 100-64.

In the first half, Walla Walla kept things close by shooting 46% from the three-point line.  Wesley Burke and Alec Calloway combined for five threes in the opening period.  But the Wildcats used a balanced attack to counter the Wolves, getting scoring contributions from nine players, and outscoring the Wolves by 8 points in the paint.  Walla Walla headed into halftime down 45-34 to the Wildcats.

The Wolves cut the lead to single digits right away after a jumper from Vargas, but over the next ten minutes, Central Washington stretch the lead to 17 points.  Central methodically worked the ball into the paint, outscoring the Wolves 30-2 in the paint in the second half.  The Wolves did their best to answer from the three-point line, but it was not enough to make up the difference.
