Men's Basketball Loses Consecutively to Yotes

College Place, WASH. The Wolves battled against the College of Idaho this evening and lost 71-53. After a night of perseverance, the Wolves were not able to gain the lead.
 
The Yotes started off with a 7-0 lead against the Wolves this evening, and Michael Isotalo quickly closed the gap with back to back three-pointers making it a one-point game, 7-6. The Wolves stole the lead after a jumper from Alec Calloway, but the College of Idaho quickly bounced back with a three-pointer from Roosevelt Adams, 10-8. Josh Hager had a 3 for Walla Walla with 10 minutes left, and the Yotes followed with a nine-point run, 25-11.  Back to back three-pointers from Michael Isotalo brought the Wolves within closer range and the score was 27-19 with 1:30 left in the half. A free throw from Aziz Leeks with 30 seconds left took the Yotes into the half up by 10, 32-22.
 
With nineteen minutes left in the second half, Jacob Vargas had a layup for the Wolves, putting the Yotes ahead only by ten, 24-34. With 16 minutes left in the game, Roy Zavala had seven consecutive points for the Wolves, but Walla Walla was still down 31-43. The College of Idaho continued to rise, but the Wolves were not going down without a fight. With 10 minutes left Dylan Browning had a layup and Cameron Silver had a three-pointer for Walla Walla, 57-39 Yotes. With 9 minutes left in the game Browning had a jumper for the Wolves, but the Yotes followed with seven consecutive points building a bigger gap of 71-45 with 3 minutes left. Within the last minute, Zavala had a jumper and two free throws for Walla Walla, followed by a layup by Dinesh Brown, but the Wolves were not able to close the gap and the College of Idaho won 71-53.
 
Walla Walla was led by Michael Isotalo with 15 points and 5 3FG, followed by Roy Zavala with 13 points and 7 rebounds. The Yotes were led by Roosevelt Adams with 10 points and 3 rebounds, and Talon Pinckney, Aziz Leeks, and Nate Bruneel with 9 points each.
