Saturday evening, the Walla Walla University men's basketball team traveled to Central Washington University (Ellensburg, WA) to compete against the NCAA D2 Wildcats.

Central Washington (3-2) was playing their first home game, since returning from Laie, Hawaii where they played two games. This was the Wolves ninth straight road game to open the season. The Wolves (0-9) lost the game 84-71, but turned in one of their best offensive showings of the year.
Walla Walla was down by 10 entering halftime, and didn't shoot particularly well in the first half. But the second half was a different story.

Guard Ethan Osias went off in the second half, where he scored all 22 of his points – including six shots from deep. Tyreek Luckett had a team high 24 points, to go along with nine rebounds, and Josh Hough played well, bringing in a game high 11 rebounds.

Central was led by Gary Jacobs, who scored 19 points, converting on 64% of field goals.
The Wolves were only outscored by three points in the second half, and they shot 46% (17-37) from the field. However, their first half deficit was tough to climb out of. Central didn't make any mistakes from the free throw line while WWU attempted a comeback, they were a perfect 11 of 11 in the second half.

This is another encouraging performance for the Wolves, who were coming off a three point loss to Northwest University Nov. 21. They will spend this week preparing for their first home game, against Lewis-Clark State College. The game is set for Thursday, at 8 p.m. in College Place.
