The Walla Walla University Women's basketball team wrapped up their Thanksgiving week travels, with two games over the weekend in Eugene, Oregon.

Saturday evening, the Wolves competed against Northwest Christian University, and came in on the losing end of a 57-95 final score. Michaela Garcia posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Lauren Pernu added 12 points, to go along with the 11 scored by Emily Field.

It was a tough loss for the Wolves, even though their offense was productive in this game.

Sunday, they were back at it, this time facing off with New Hope College. It was a similar outcome for WWU, losing 89-49. New Hope more than doubled the Wolves in scoring in the first half (48-22), and that early lead was enough to provide a cushion for the second half.

Neither team shot very well from the field (New Hope 39%, WWU 25%), and both teams were around 50% from the free throw line. However, Emily Field played one of her best games of the season. She had a double-double of her own, finishing with a season high 23 points and 11 rebounds.

The Wolves have seen improvement in various aspects over the course of the past few games. They will prepare this week for their first home game in nearly a month, when they play in-town opponent, Whitman College. The game is set for 6 p.m. in College Place.
