The Walla Walla University men's basketball team hosted visiting Warner Pacific College (Portland, Ore.) Sunday afternoon in College Place.
Warner Pacific won the game 77-43, thanks in large part to a great display of three-point shooting. The game started well for the knights, as they got off to a 10-0 lead to start the game.
Jordan Spady had a nice variation on inside/outside scoring for the Wolves. He hit two shots from deep, and made several layups to score a team high 14 points. Spady also added a game high nine rebounds, and a block. He exited the game briefly after a collision under the basket, but returned shortly and played well.
34-22 was the score at halftime, and the Wolves finished the first half on a little bit of a run thanks to a couple shots from Jordan Underwood.
The momentum turned back to Warner Pacific in the second half, as they took advantage of several Wolves turnovers, and shot 57% from the field.
The Wolves were down Tyreek Luckett (ankle) and Jordan Collins (illness) again for this game, but had senior Clark Woodworth available, who was making his season debut. Woodworth finished with seven points.
The Wolves have a couple of tough games ahead of them this upcoming week. They will travel to play Big Sky Conference schools, University of Idaho (Dec. 17) and Portland State University (Dec. 22).
