College Place, Wash.–  The Wolves (0-8, 0-8) knew they were in a tough spot heading into the weekend.  Saturday night they had a match in Portland, Ore. against Warner Pacific College (3-6-2, 2-4-2).  They then had to turn around and take on Eastern Oregon University (8-4-1, 3-4-1) in La Grande, Ore. A tight turnaround including over eight hours of driving made the weekend even more difficult.  The Wolves struggled in both matches, giving up their most goals of any weekend series this season.

Saturday night against the WPC Knights, the Wolves found themselves down early due to a barrage of goals, led by Junior Cordon, who put in his second goal of the match and the teams' sixth at around the 25th minute.  At this point, Goalie Josh Fry received two quick yellow cards which led to his ejection from the match.  Walla Walla really struggled to get their offense going which led to substitute Goalkeeper Jonathan Lindsey seeing 15 shots on goal and surrendering seven before the match was over.  The Wolves walked away with a 13-0 final and headed to bed before their cross-state trip to play against Eastern Oregon.

The Mountaineers are known for the high number of shots they get on goal, averaging on the season almost 20 attempts per game.  The EOU offense did not disappoint and they would put up 31 shots before the match was over.  Jonathan Lindsey played keeper and did have an impressive 15 saves on the day.  Sadly, that was not enough to stop the high-powered EOU offense.  Micah Hill of EOU led the way with three goals and two assists in the match.  He was one of five players that would finish with multiple goals.  The last thirty minutes of the match Walla Walla righted themselves, slowed the Mountaineer attack, and slowed down the pace of the game.  The Mountaineers would take the match 16-0.

Walla Walla is headed home for this next weekend.  On Friday the Wolves take on #20 Corban University (10-2, 5-2) and Saturday night they host Northwest Christian University (6-4-2, 2-3-2).

Saturday night is also senior night.  The Wolves will be honoring 10 seniors on the evening.  We want to send them off with a big farewell, so come out and show support this next weekend!
