Corban U. Ladies Take The Win

This afternoon, the Warrior women came out strong and didn't quit until the very end. The WWU Lady Wolves played a strong defense, but to no avail. With 71 to 26, the Warriors played true to their mascot.

Though the Wolves didn't take home the win this afternoon, they had fun and played their hearts out. Kassidy Kuykendall made 4 shots for the team, as well as 5 rebounds. Top scoring 3-point shooter was Lauren Pernu, boasting 3 three's! The ladies kept their spirits high despite the hard press of Corban U.

Warrior Julia Young played a significantly impressive gave, as she shot 5-for-5 this afternoon. In addition, freshman Jordan Rasberry was a high-scorer with 5 shots, in addition to great defense.

All in all, it was a tough loss for WWU, but the lady Wolves always come back fighting stronger and harder.

WWU Wolves Face Tough Loss to Corban Warriors

After the women's game, the men came out on the court stronger than ever. By half time, the Wolves were nearly tied with the Warriors. But the game ended in a 14 point lead by Corban, 74-60.

Ethan Osias played a great game this afternoon, shooting 4 two's and 1 three. Also on fire was Chad Torkelsen, with 12 total points in the game! The men played strong defense, as always, especially David Reischach with 4 defensive rebounds. Andrew Nye was one of the athletes that nearly played the entire game, engaging sharp plays and quick passes. Nye attempted a few shots, with the crowd's loud sighs proving their hope in the young athlete. But the crowd went wild when Nye made his first shot of the game, helping the Wolves trail only a few points behind the Warriors.

The field goal percentage in the first half was high at 40.6%, and the free throws were incredible in the 2nd half, at 75%!

Though the athletes left the court a little discouraged, it was clear the fans couldn't be more proud by the standing ovation!

Northwest Christian Ladies Take the Game

Tonight at the Whitman campus, the WWU lady Wolves began the game against Northwest Christian strong, but unfortunately were beat in an 86-41 score.

The game started out hard, with the Beacon ladies ending the first quarter at 31 points, and the Wolves with 12. The Wolves didn't let up the whole game, but neither did the Beacons.

Though they didn't win, the ladies kept their optimism and had good sportsmanship the entire time. Lead shooter was Lauren Pernu, 5 for 12 shots, and then Grace Wallace, 5 for 13. Janessa Blaser made two incredible 3-pointers, and Grace Wallace also score two 3's. With 10 offensive rebounds and 10 defensive rebounds, it's obvious that the ladies are strong as a team.

For the Northwest Christian Beacon ladies, Monique Thompson was a high scorer for the night, shooting 6 for 8! While Sami Pitts also showed impressive skill with her three's, shooting 4 for 5!
