Wolves Almost Cause Upset

Walla Walla faced Oregon Tech again this afternoon and maintained the lead for the majority of the game. With an upset from the Owls in the last five minutes the Wolves went from an 8 point lead to a 5 point deficit to finish the game.

The Wolves started the game out strong with a  3 from Wesley Burke and continued to hold the lead throughout the first half.  With 7 minutes left in the game the Wolves were up 29-25, and a jump shot from Jacob Vargas helped Walla Walla maintain the lead. The Wolves entered the half ahead 40-35 and were  led by  Vargas with 8 points and Burke with 8 points.
 
The Wolves maintained the lead after halftime  and stayed  ahead until the last 6 minutes of the  game. With 18 minutes left Dylan Browning hit a 3 giving the Wolves an 8 point lead followed by an OIT comeback bringing the game to 47-44 Wolves with 17 minutes left. The Owls continued to make shots bringing the game to a tie with 6:30 left before Oregon Tech stole the lead. With 40 seconds left in the game, the Owls were up 76-74 and the teams continued to battle until the last few seconds when Oregon Tech pulled farther ahead. After a brutal battle Walla Walla lost to the Owls 82-77.

The Wolves were led by Dylan Browning with 15 points, and Wesley Burke  and Jacob Vargas with 12 points each.
