Tache and Posada post top-20 finishes at CCC Championships

PORTLAND, Ore. — Eddie Tache and Mariana Posada of Walla Walla Golf earned top-20 finishes at the Cascade Conference Golf Championship as the final round concluded at the Glendoveer Golf Course on Wednesday.

After back-to-back rounds at even-par, Tache opened his final round with seven pars over his first nine holes, he started on No. 10. The junior posted a birdie on No. 4, but it was sandwiched by three bogies. Tache ended the final round with a 4-over 77 for a tournament score of 4-over 223, good enough for a tie for 13th place.

Posada continued her climb up the leaderboard with her best round of the tournament coming on Wednesday. The freshman carded a 7-over 80 with birdies on Nos. 10 and 13. Posada improved on the leaderboard two spots on the day and took home 20th place.

Senior Andrew Kuljis wrapped up his golf career at Walla Walla with his best round of the tournament, a 75, with four birdies including one on his final hole. Kuljis moved up four spots and took home 28th. George Calvet also posted his best round of the CCC Championship with a 76 to finish tied for 29th.

Emily Keel (five spots) and Nell Dodds (four spots) had the biggest leaderboard gains for the women. Keel knocked in a birdie on No. 14 en route to a round of 86 to finish in a tie for 29th. Dodds carded a birdie on No. 6 and wrapped up the tournament with a round of 87 to finish in 32nd.

The men's team in total had a 13-over 305 in the final round, the best showing of the tournament by the Wolves. The women were one stroke behind their performance in Round 2 on Tuesday with a 349. Both teams finished in eighth place.

The CCC Championship wrapped up the 2024-25 season for the Walla Walla Wolves.
