KANSAS CITY, Mo. –
Sahara Browning had two strong performances last weekend and for her efforts she was awarded the NAIA Attacker of the Week honor.
Browning was announced as the Cascade Conference Attacker of the Week on Monday, the third time in her collegiate career, but this is the first time she has been recognized nationally. In fact, she is the first player in Walla Walla University history to be honored with a weekly award from the NAIA.
"This award is well deserved," head coach Kiana Krumm said. "It reflects Sahara's work ethic and powerful presence on the court. We always trust her to give 100%."
The junior outside hitter had 23 kills with a hit percentage of .370 in a four set victory over Arizona Christian on Friday and 19 kills with a hit percentage of .410 in a straight set win over Montana Western later in the day. It was the first time in program history that the Wolves upset a ranked opponent. Browning collected 11 digs and five total blocks on the weekend.
