The Walla Walla University women's basketball team played their second game of the weekend at Whitman College on Sunday afternoon, taking on Whitworth University.
The final score was 92-40, and the Wolves continued to play with a shallow bench, having only six players.
Lauren Pernu registered a double-double for the Wolves, posting 10 points and a game high 15 rebounds in 40 minutes of play. Michaela Garcia also played 40 minutes, leading all players in scoring with 15 points earning her a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
Whitworth shot 57% from the field, and had 16 different players enter the game. Nobody on Whitworth's roster played more than 16 minutes, allowing them to keep their players fresh, and bring lots of energy.
Now, the Wolves will be off for a month, not playing their next game until January 14. The team will take some time off over Christmas vacation and look to return healthier, with a renewed sense of vitality.
