Boxers Down Lady Wolves 78-35

453COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Walla Walla University (0-12, 0-6) lose at home to Pacific University (5-6), (0-2) 78-35 on Windemuth Court. 
 
It was a slow start to the game as both teams struggled early, but the Boxers relentless defense and strong full court press gave them a 10 point lead over the Lady Wolves, as they led 18-8 at the end of the first quarter. 
 
In the second quarter, Pacific shot an impressive 50% from the 3-Point range and continued to keep up their defensive intensity as they caused 14 Walla Walla turnovers in the first half. The Boxers controlled the opening period and went into halftime up 43-17. 
 
Sarah Curl scored 17 points and Karli McHone shot 4 of 5 from three to lead the Boxers.
Kassidy Kuykendall and Janessa Blaser led the Wolves with 5 points each.
  
To open up the second half, Walla Walla came out playing a lot better offensively. However they just couldn't find a way to make multiple stops defensively against Pacific University. The Boxers would lead 62-25 over the Wolves at the end of three.
 
Despite the Wolves hustle and hard play, the fourth quarter belonged to the Boxers who closed out the game strong to defeat Walla Walla 78-35.
  
The Pacific University Boxer's outshot the Walla Walla University Wolves 11 to 2 from 3-Point land and finished the game shooting both 50% from the field and the 3-Point line.
 
 Curl led all scorers with 22 points and McHone finished with 14 points for the Boxers.
  
Kuykendall fought hard for the Wolves and scored a team high 12 points.
Lauren Pernu, Grace Wallace, and Christina Thermidor all added 6 points each with Christina adding a team high 5 rebounds.
  
The Lady Wolves will host Oregon Tech Saturday, January 9th at 6pm on their home court in College Place.
