How it Happened

Gabe Taylor drove the lane and put up a shot in the paint to give the Pilots a 2-0 lead.  The Wolves came right back and Dylan Browning hit a three-pointer to give the Wolves a 3-2 advantage.  This was the Walla Walla's second matchup of the season with a NCAA division I school, and were aware of the challenge that faced them.  The Wolves played unafraid, and early it payed off.  Trent Torkelsen hit Ethan Oasis on the wing and he nailed an open three-pointer to make the score 8-11 in favor of the Pilots.  Pilots used their superior size inside to go on an 13-4 run on open up a lead the Wolves would not be able to close the rest of the game.  Adrian Osias hit a three-pointer with :21 seconds left in the half, and the Wolves went in to the locker down 56-31 to the Pilots.  In the second half, the Wolves continued to give good effort.   The also played deep into their bench, with 11 players recording 10 or more minutes of playing time for Walla Walla. Despite the effort, the size and athletic ability of the Pilots got the Wolves in the second half.  With just under :20 second left to play, senior Andrew Nye hit a three-pointer to score the last point of his career and the final points for the Wolves in the 2016-2017 season.  The final score was 96 to 58 in favor of the Pilots.
