CALDWELL, Idaho — The Walla Walla golf teams wrapped up play in the second Cascade Conference tournament of the season at the College of Idaho Invitational at Timberstone Golf Course on Tuesday.
The women improved by seven strokes from their round on Monday with a round of 67-over 355 and held off Simpson for seventh place. The Wolves finished 120 strokes behind winner No. 2 British Columbia.
Mariana Posada shot an 11-over 83, one stroke better than her opening round, and finished just outside the top-20 in 21st position.
Hailey Werner shot a 90 on Tuesday, three strokes better than Round 1, to finish in a tie for 36th place and
Raegan Boyse improved by nine strokes on her Monday round with a 90.
The men struggled to find their footing on the wet course after a strong second round on Monday. Walla Walla shot a team score of 33-over 321. The Wolves finished in eight place ahead of Warner Pacific, but fell 13 strokes behind Corban for sixth place and 94 strokes behind victor No. 11 British Columbia.
Angelo Gallevo had by far the best round of his tournament on Tuesday with a 3-over 75 and improved to finish in 46th place.
Eddie Tache finished one stroke out of the top-20 with a final round of 78.
Nua Devaphalin impressed as an individual player from WWU with a 6-over 78 for the second time in three rounds and finished in 39th place.
